MK Health Care Budgets to be Cut!

6.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Sat 13th Sep 2003

"More health care - not less!" say local Liberal Democrats.

Three people talking

Ed Davey MP talks to local pensioners and MK Lib Dem Spokesperson Jane Carr.

Milton Keynes has a growing population, and the Government insists we build 70,000 more houses over the next few years. Yet they insist that the Primary Care Trust make £6 million of cuts to our health care! We already require an extra 400 beds for our current population - yet Milton Keynes is being forced to expand, whilst making cuts to our local hospitals, which affect us all!

Under the proposals, the Fraser Day Centre would be closed completely and Bletchley Community Hospital would loose half it's beds!

This cannot be allowed to happen! LibDems are demanding that the Government thinks again! We are demanding the money to safeguard health care in Milton Keynes!
