Gayhurst Gets its Speed Limit at Last!

7.27.38pm GMT Sat 27th Nov 2004

Thanks to persistent pressure from local Liberal Democrat Councillors and local residents, Milton Keynes Council has now implemented the 40 mph speed limit through Gayhurst.

Councillor Pat Seymour said: "There are new warning signs and plenty of 40 signs to alert drivers. Most drivers have slowed down. You can really hear the difference in the speed of most of the traffic, but the police have already stopped many drivers who are still travelling too fast through the village!"

The council has also improved the white lining on the B526 from Newport right up to the Northants border in order to improve visibility in the dark.
