Inspectors Praise Council's Sports Development Team12.00.00am GMT Wed 19th Oct 2005 Government inspectors have heaped praise on Milton Keynes Council's Sports Development Team. The two-day inspection, conducted by Quest (UK Quality Scheme for Sport and Leisure) in September, focused on the ability of the team to continuously improve and deliver the City's sports strategy ("Developing physical education and sport, promoting health and well-being"). The inspectors' glowing report singled out the team's ability to work in partnership with external agencies. It also commended the team's powerful "can do" attitude when faced with challenges, and its ability to strive for solutions. "I am delighted with this report. It clearly affirms how committed we are to continuous development and improvement," said Councillor Euan Henderson, Liberal Democrat cabinet member responsible for leisure and sport. Paul Sanders, Assistant Director for Leisure, Learning and Culture, said he was hugely satisfied with the report. He described the Quest score as "a great achievement which recognises the highly respected work being carried out by the Council in developing sport in the City." Partner agencies interviewed by the inspectors referred to the sports development team as "progressive, proactive, hard working and enthusiastic."
