Isobel goes on to say: "I would like to express the Liberal Democrats' thanks to Councillor Pat Wicker (Walton Park ward) and Councillor Jayne Carrington (Furzton ward) who have decided not to stand again in May.

"Pat deserves special mention, as she has given us not just sterling work as a councillor but also as secretary of the Liberal Democrat Group. As a councillor, she has excelled as a committed campaigner for the residents of her ward. As group secretary, she has kept us all on our toes. Pat will be 75 shortly and we wish her a long and happy retirement.

"Jayne has been juggling her young family and work commitments with her council duties and has decided not to stand for family reasons. We wish Jayne, and her family, all the best in the future."
