Employment Roadshow Successful

More than 25 local people received advice and guidance about all their employment and training worries during a careers, training and employment roadshow in Netherfield.

Netherfield has seen the biggest turnout at the roadshows to date and following the popularity of this recent event more roadshows are being planned for the autumn.

The Council's Economic Development and Adult Continuing Education teams work in partnership with MK Enterprise Gateway to take their roadshows to different areas of Milton Keynes.

Each roadshow runs from 10am to 3pm and local people are invited to come along for information and advice about employment and training. After the roadshow advisors can continue to mentor individuals on a one-to-one basis to get them into the employment and training they want.

Tina Strutton, employment support officer, said: "It's great to come out to the communities and talk to people who may not be able to make it into the centre. We hope to help even more people with their employment queries at the next roadshow. "

Liberal Democrat councillor Euan Henderson, cabinet member for economic development, said: "I am very pleased to see local residents engaging in the careers service and enhancing their employment chances and opportunities."
